Self-archiving Policy
What authors may deposit, where, and when. The journal permits archiving of every version at any time with no embargo.
Summary
International Research Insights permits self archiving of every version of an article, in any repository, at any time, with no embargo period. This is the position the journal takes because an open access journal that restricted archiving would be contradicting itself.
The three versions
Preprint, the submitted version. The manuscript as sent to the journal, before review. Authors may post the preprint at any time, before or after submission, on any preprint server or repository. Posting a preprint does not prejudice consideration by this journal. Disclose the preprint and its address in the covering letter, and update the posting with the journal citation once the article is published.
Accepted manuscript, the author accepted version. The manuscript as accepted after peer review, before copy editing and typesetting. Authors may deposit it immediately in an institutional repository, a subject repository, a funder repository, a personal website or an academic network profile, with no embargo. Add a line stating that the article has been accepted for publication in International Research Insights, with the volume and issue once known.
Version of record, the published version. The final published article as it appears on this website. Authors may deposit and distribute the version of record immediately and anywhere, since it is published under CC BY 4.0. Include the full citation, the licence, and a link to the article on this website.
What to include when depositing
Every deposit should carry the article title, the full author list, the journal name, the volume, number and year, the page range, the DOI where one has been assigned, the ISSN once allotted, and the statement: published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence.
Repositories the journal recommends
Deposit in your institutional repository first, since institutional repositories are the ones that survive changes in commercial ownership. For subject repositories, use the recognised repository in your field. Where your funder requires deposit in a specific repository, that requirement is fully compatible with this policy and needs no permission from the journal.
Academic social networks such as ResearchGate and Academia.edu are useful for visibility but are commercial services and are not archives. Use them in addition to a repository, never instead of one.
Text and data mining
The CC BY licence permits text and data mining of every article published in the journal, by anyone, for any purpose, including commercial purposes, with attribution. No separate permission is required and none should be sought.
